Join Carey Rogers for an opportunity to reflect on your current practice of teaching writing in the primary grades.
The course will focus on two important text forms relevant to NAPLAN and provide a range of teaching strategies to support your students to be successful in creating persuasive and narrative texts. Take-away some ideas for providing time for students to talk and discuss topics prior to writing. Learn how to support the 'talking' at home and in the classroom.
You will explore visual tools for stimulating ideas, graphic organisers for students to plan, an editing and self-assessment framework, language features and text structures and the application of the gradual release of responsibility.
You will leave the day with a USB full of resources shared throughout the day.
