Hopefully your newly-elected Health and Safety Rep/s have registered to attend the newly developed Education-Specific HSR Training Course to learn about the updated information around the new WHS Act 2020 and the new legislation.
In response to a recommendation from the SSTUWA School Leader Reference Group, a learning opportunity has also been created for school leaders to expand their knowledge around the new documents and legislation in the WHS space.
This one-day course has been specifically developed to support school leaders to become familiar with the key components of the new ACT to assist them in the successful management of WHS at the school-level.
You will explore several important topics from a school leader perspective including:

Members in schools and TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).

The school will not be charged for the salary of the person attending trade union training - this is covered by the DoE. However, if a relief teacher is required, this is funded through the school's one line budget.
