Dyslexics do not need to be fixed. They are not ‘disabled, they do not have a learning disorder, they are not malfunctioning. All they require is to be taught in a way which fits their thinking style. The most complex and difficult aspect is for non-dyslexic people involved in the educative process and who interact with dyslexic students to take the time to educate themselves in the way of dyslexic thinking.
This session will look at identifying what Dyslexia is and explore practical strategies that can be applied in the classroom to ensure that students are supported so that they can engage with the curriculum and complete work that is achievable.
Join Annette for a morning of learning around understanding dyslexia and how to support students in your classroom.
By the end of the session participants will:
$ 75 : Members: Part Time/Relief/Student
$ 150 : Members: Full Time
$ 250 : Non-Members
Includes morning tea
