Please join us in the ‘Walk for Reconciliation’ organised by Reconciliation WA, on Friday 31 March arrive at 12.00 for a 12.20pm start. Finish: 2.00pm.
The Walk will begin with a Welcome to Country in Wardang Park, next to RAC Arena at 700 Wellington Street, Perth and conclude in the grassed area opposite the digital tower in Yagan Square. We will be carrying our SSTUWA flags. This is a free event and public are encouraged to come along.
If you can’t make the walk we hope you can do something to recognise the importance of National Reconciliation Week. There are other events happening around the state too. Please see https://www.recwa.org.au for information on this, and see more here.
https://www.narragunnawali.org.au/rap/action has good ideas and resources for schools. We would like to see photos of what you did on your walk, for future publications. Send them to editor@sstuwa.org.au
We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and future - and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within Australia. We stand in solidarity.
