There have been no negotiation meetings between the parties for over eight weeks. This is despite the SSTUWA having sought information about the progress of an offer on several occasions, in writing and verbally, to the Minister’s office. The union has expressed the high level of frustration being felt by members at the government’s failure to respond to the SSTUWA claim and members’ willingness to take action around this failure.
The SSTUWA has now been informed that we can expect an offer by the end of this week – i.e. on or before 13 May.
TAFE Committee met on Thursday 5 May and in the light of the lack of progress for a new Agreement, passed the following motion:
TAFE Committee directs rolling stop work meetings and other industrial action to begin on or after 16 May 2022.
The SSTUWA Executive endorsed TAFE Committee’s motion on Friday 6 May 2022.
