We were pleased to hear from member Linda Valdrighi, Visual Arts/Photography teacher from Lesmurdie Senior High School about this year’s recipient of the Lesmurdie Future Teacher’s Award and the SSTUWA’s continued sponsorship support.
“Lesmurdie SHS would like to thank the SSTUWA for their support and sponsorship of the Future Teacher’s Award at our 2018 graduation ceremony,” Linda said.
The award promotes and inspires future teachers within their community and elevates the status of the teaching profession.
It recognises both a selected student and the union as prominent identities in the school community.
Since it began, just over a decade ago, students have gone on to pursue careers in teaching and are proud union members.
The 2018 recipient of the award, Malachi Van Der Wal is now enrolled in a Secondary School teaching course with a mind to specialise in Health and Physical Education Studies.
“Once again we thank you for your continued support of both staff and students in the promotion of our venerable profession and for your gracious donation.”
We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and future - and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within Australia. We stand in solidarity.
