“Ready to work”
The 2015 Beginning Teachers Conference has been and gone with outstanding success.
Keynote speaker Pat Byrne, SSTUWA President, had an inspiring message for beginning teachers; given the difficulties facing public education, it is vital to become involved in your school’s branch and become an active Union member.
Fellow keynote speaker, Akram Azimi, 2013 Young Australian of the Year, presented the story of his childhood educational experiences and his journey to academic success.
Workshop topics offered throughout the day included TRB portfolios, Classroom Management techniques, CV writing, Cyber Smart and Ready to Work, giving beginning teachers the opportunity to gain strategies and ideas to organise and run their classroom. Many questions were answered for those attending, and the day was highly motivating and inspirational.
A big thank you to the Education and Training Centre, all our presenters and NENs who attended – it was you who made the day a success.
We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and future - and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within Australia. We stand in solidarity.
