The latest information from the Productivity Commission has found that Western Australia has the highest student-to-staff ratio in primary schools. It also found that student-to-staff ratios across all schools have been increasing since 2010.

The new report only included data up until 2013, which was before Colin Barnett cut over $200 million from public education.
We already know that student numbers are increasing at more than twice the rate of teacher numbers, and that funding per student has dropped every year since 2009.
"We expect the next two reports from the Productivity Commission will show that class sizes in WA have increased even more significantly since the cuts were introduced."
Ms Byrne said that while the report showed student to teacher ratios in secondary schools were about average, these figures would have increased since $45 million was taken directly from the secondary sector.
