Twenty final year student members visited Perth Cultural Centre to learn about what was on offer for teachers who take their class on excursion to their venues.
The aim was to take the confusion out of planning excursions and demonstrate what is needed at a school level to ensure a smooth process.
The State Library of WA and the Art Gallery of WA presented information required to complete the Department's school excursion documentation, offering a taste of the education programs available for students on excursion at both venue.
A guided tour of both facilities included the art rooms in the Gallery as well as seeing a selection of items students may use on an excursion to the library. Growth Team officers discussed the many benefits of SSTUWA membership.
Each participant received a goody bag from the Perth Cultural Centre and the SSTUWA.
We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and future - and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within Australia. We stand in solidarity.
